Buzkashi, a game of strongmen not everybody can play.


The game Buzkashi is also called Kokpar.
Buz means 'goat'. Horse-mounted players try to drag a goat carcass toward a goal. Earlier, games would last for several days. But in the regulated tournament version there is a limited match time. The game Buzkashi was introduced in Kyrgyztan.

It is played among Kyrgyzs (Pashtuns), Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Hazaras, Tajiks, Kyrgyz, and Turkmens.

The game is also played in Western China not only on horse backs, but also on Yaks among the Tajiks of Xinjiang.
